Since the 1950’s Hull Industries has been building transfer molding presses for encapsulating electrical and electronic components in thermoset materials.  Over those years we have gained the knowledge and experience that results in presses that produce high quality parts for our customers.  Typical sizes range from 15 tons up to 500 tons.  Standard features include color touch screen, mold protection, mechanical ejection, closed loop profiling of the transfer velocity and pressure, accurate heat control for the mold, process monitoring, password protection and digital position sensors.

Transfer Press
T Series transfer presses offer the optimum combination of manufacturing flexibility and precision control. Ideal for precise, highly repeatable molding, they accommodate small, intricate shapes, including parts with thin walls, fragile inserts and close-tolerance buildup dimensions.

Available in standard models from 6 tons to 250 tons, presses and auxiliary equipment can also be custom-engineered to your materials, process and production requirements. High output, high yield presses are designed with small footprints across all models.

CONSISTENT QUALITY, HIGH PRODUCTIVITY

T Series transfer presses are equipped with PLCs as a standard feature. The optional Smart – Mold™ system provides fully automatic closed loop control. Both assure consistent, high quality molding and high productivity.

Standard open-loop controls minimize operator intervention and provide consistent repeatability by controlling clamp position and time intervals in press operations. Controls are available with a wide variety of interfaces to expand or modify job parameters.

SUPERIOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION FOR DURABILITY AND RELIABLE PERFORMANCE

T Series presses feature the heavy-duty construction and high-quality materials characteristic of all Hull Industries Inc. products. Features include chromeplated tie rods and heavy duty platens that prevent defection to assure precise molding to close-tolerance requirements. Special design features include a soft-close clamping mechanism that automatically changes clamp speed at a variable pre-set position and closes under low hydraulic pressure. Soft clamping protects your investment in expensive mold and loading fixtures.

Free-standing and console designs are available. Proportional pressure and speed control are available.

Hull Industries provides a complete line of auxiliary equipment for integrated transfer molding operations.

  • Electrically Heated Universal Platens
    Ruggedly constructed platen sets are equipped with cable, insulation, and eight mold clamps. Special platens available.
  • High-Frequency Pre-Heaters
    Provide uniform preheating of materials in large or small amounts, regardless of variations in density or particle size.
  • Preformers
    Compact bulk material into cylindrical shape for efficient handling and loading into press.
  • Vacuum Molding Attachments
    Wheeled self-contained units can be moved easily to serve many press needs.
